Director Finance

For our client, a publicly listed private equity company, we are currently seeking a Finance Director to join the Operations (OPS) team. Within the OPS team, they are searching for a financial professional with experience in audit/consulting. Additionally, it is important that you have experience as an FM/FD. Furthermore, it is crucial that you are willing to travel 4 days a week within Europe and are fluent in the Dutch language

As a Finance Director, your role will involve serving as an interim CFO or Finance Director for the acquired companies, collaborating closely with the local CEO/CRO during the turnaround phase. To excel in this position, you should possess an entrepreneurial mindset and be a quick thinker. You must have the capability to construct, assess, and refine financial models and effectively translate these insights into day-to-day solutions.

Our client specializes in acquiring medium-sized companies facing unique challenges and offering substantial potential for operational enhancement. These companies undergo a repositioning and stabilization process until they are ready for resale. This role will be based at portfolio companies, requiring on-site presence across Europe. You will be part of the Dutch OPS team in Amsterdam.

• Routinely lead the finance workstream and/or finance organisation on site
• Understand and analyse the core drivers of the business, develop financial turnaround concepts and lead the end-to-end implementation of the concepts
• Prepare integrated financial plans and lead forecasting and budgeting processes
• Implement and improve sound cash management processes and manage liquidity needs on site
• Prepare and execute financing solutions (factoring, asset-based funding, credit lines)
• Manage and improve the relationship to external stakeholders (auditors, financial advisers, banks, credit insurer, etc.)

• At least 7 years of relevant, international financial or operational restructuring experience gained in consulting, private equity, banking or industry
• Master's degree in the fields of finance from a reputable university or business school
• Exceptional entrepreneurship to find and implement creative solutions, energy and drive to solve complex problems as well as resilience during distressed situations
• Fluent Dutch and English, another European language is a plus
• Willingness to travel 4 days per week within within Europe (typ. Mo-Thu)
